In German, 'Lehrhaus' translates to 'house of learning.' This singular space in Somerville merges Jewish traditions from both the tavern and the beit midrash (study hall). Lehrhaus offers an environment dedicated to the traditional practice of 'chevruta,' which involves paired study of the Talmud and other Jewish texts. The space is designed to welcome both Jews and non-Jews, encouraging engagement with Jewish learning.
